Christopher M. Braley

Christopher M. Braley was born and raised in Parkston, South Dakota. He graduated from Parkston High School in May of 1989 and from South Dakota State University in May of 1993 with a B.S. in Geography and History. Chris received his Juris Doctor in May of 1996 from the University of South Dakota School of Law in Vermillion and has been practicing law in both Parkston and Corsica since 1996. He has served as a bar commissioner for the State Bar of South Dakota. He is a past Chairman of the Avera St. Benedict Health Care Center Foundation, a past board member with the South Dakota State University Alumni Association, and a past board member with South Central Child Development Grantee Board, which manages Head Start in Southeastern South Dakota. Chris enjoys hunting big game and wildfowl, brewing beer and has enjoyed coaching his children’s baseball and softball teams over the years. Most recently he and other volunteers were involved in hosting the SD VFW 16U-B State Baseball tourney which earned a State Championship trophy along with the distinction of Parkston receiving Community of the Year from the South Dakota VFW Baseball Association for their efforts.  He and his wife Barbara have three children, two that are attending South Dakota State University and one in high school. They are residents of Parkston, and they both love cheering on the SDSU Jackrabbits.

Barbara A. (Weber) Braley

Barbara A. (Weber) Braley is a native of Dimock, South Dakota where she was raised on a dairy farm that received ‘century farm’ honor at the South Dakota State Fair in 2014. She graduated with honors in May of 1989 from Parkston High School. She graduated with high honor in May of 1993 from South Dakota State University with a major in Psychology and minor in Sociology. Following graduation Barb worked at Our Home Inc., a group home for youth, with locations in Huron and Parkston. She then received her Juris Doctor in May of 1997 from the University of South Dakota School of Law. She was a member of the Client Counseling and Negotiations Board during her time at Law School and also participated in volunteer income tax assistance (VITA) program. Barb has been practicing law in both Parkston and Corsica since September of 1997. She has served as a bar commissioner for the State Bar of South Dakota and a past committee member of the Ag Law Committee. Barb enjoys working out and staying active, watching movies, listening to music, reading and following her children’s activities. She and her husband Christopher have three children, two that are attending South Dakota State University and one in high school. They are residents of Parkston, and they both love cheering on the SDSU Jackrabbits.

Michael V. Braley

 

Michael V. Braley is a native of Brookings, South Dakota, graduating from Brookings High School in 1959. He received a B.S. in Economics from South Dakota State University and received his Juris Doctor from the University of South Dakota School of Law in May of 1966. In the fall of 1966, Michael took a chance and accepted a position with Glynn and Horstman, a small town law firm in Parkston, South Dakota, where he otherwise had no previous connections. He and his wife Diane (O’Donnell) moved to Parkston and began raising their family. Michael started an associate under Henry J. Horstman as Glynn retired, and eventually became sole owner. Michael later sold the practice to his son Christopher in April of 2003. He retired from the practice of law in September, 2021, after 55 years of service. Michael has served on many state and local boards and committees during his 55 years of service, including the State Bar Disciplinary Board, and the Parkston Area Foundation.
